Summary:
The Open Recertification course is open to graduates of ALL wilderness medical training courses of 64 hours or longer with a current Wilderness First Responder certification. Successful graduates of this course will receive Wilderness Medical Associates’ Wilderness First Responder, Anaphylaxis, and BLS/Healthcare Provider-level CPR certifications. WMA WEMT graduates with a current EMT-B or Paramedic certificate may also recertify the wilderness portion of their WEMT with this course.

Registration, payment of fees, cancellation and refund policy: Registration can be made by calling Zion Adventure Company (435-772-0990) during business hours, 8am-8pm, MDT. Your full payment is expected upon registration. Spaces will not be held without full payment. Due to the limited availability off this class and the large demand for this training, tuition is fully refundable up until 30 days prior to the first day of class. Cancellation less than thirty days prior to the first day of class will result in a 25% cancellation fee. This specific WFR policy supersedes all other Zion Adventure Company course policies.
Prerequisites:
To be eligible for a WFR recertification through this course, candidates must have completed a wilderness medical training course of at least 64 hours. Cumulative training hours from different courses are not eligible. Training must have been completed within three years of participation in our three-day Open Recertification course. Any exceptions to these conditions must be verified prior to the course by contacting the Wilderness Medical Associates office. Proof of current certification is required at the start of the course. Students without proof of certification or approval from the WMA™ office will not be eligible for WFR certification. Only WMA™ trained WEMTs are eligible for WEMT recertification through this course.
Upon receipt of a course roster from the sponsor, pre-course Study Guides will be mailed to students two to four weeks prior to the first day of their course.Students should complete the Study Guide in preparation for the course. It was designed to familiarize students with the essential points in the curriculum. Instructors will collect it at the beginning of the course but it will not be figured into the final grade.
Students must be at least sixteen years old to participate in the three-day Open Recertification course. Those under age eighteen will require the written consent of a parent or guardian.

Food: Zion Adventure Company does have a small kitchen facility that you are welcome to use while you are here. The kitchen consists of a full size refridgerator and freezer, microwave, two burner hot plate, and sink. If you need to use these facilities, we ask that you access them during normal business hours. We'll be open daily 8am-8pm while you are here.
Springdale is an amazing place, being the gateway town to Zion National Park. That being said, because we are a resort town, things are a little more expensive. If you need to buy groceries, I would recommend picking them up on your way into town from a larger city. We do have a little market in Springdale. Generally, however, prices are cheaper the farther away you get from Springdale.

What to bring: Please be prepared to be outside in temperatures which could be as cold as freezing. Bring appropriate clothing for this location at this time of year. Remember that , rain or shine, much of our time is outside.

Nearby Recreation and links: Zion National Park is just seconds from out door. Bryce National park is 2 hours away, Grand Canyon Northern Rim is 2 hours away and Las Vegas is 2.5 hours away.
Comments: Classroom events will occur each morning with practical applications and quizzes outdoors in the afternoon, when possible. The classroom portion of your course will be held at the Zion Adventure Company in our upstairs loft.
