Registration, payment of fees, cancellation and refund policy: A non-refundable deposit of $75 is required to hold a spot. The deposit is part of the tuition.
The balance of tuition is due 14 days prior to course start. If payment is not received, your deposit will be forfeited and the slot given to persons wait listed. Students will be accepted right up until course start as long as space is available.
Tuition includes food, lodging and the cost of the course.
Please make all checks payable to the Baltimore Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound Center.
If the course is full, you will be waitlisted, upon receipt of your $75 deposit. The greatest factor affecting your chances of being called off the wait list is the length of time you can remain "on call" (the longer you can wait, the better your chances). For each course, there are usually some applicants who must cancel for medical or personal reasons. Many cancellations do not occur until close to the starting date. We will phone you the minute a cancellation enables you to enroll. IF A SPOT DOES NOT OPEN FOR YOU, ALL PAYMENTS WILL BE REFUNDED TO YOU.
The $75 deposit fee is non refundable; however, it is applied toward your tuition. No refund will be given for cancellation within 30 days of course start (possible exception if your slot is filled). After the course begins, no refunds will be made. If we should cancel a course, a full refund will be made.
Prerequisites: Students must be at least sixteen years old to participate. Those under 18 years of age will require the written consent of a parent or guardian. Certain course sponsors, including those offering the five-day format, may set a higher minimum age or establish other requirements consistent with their program. No previous medical training is required.
Accommodations: The Baltimore Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound base will be the center for most of the course. Housing will be indoors in our large staff house. Bathroom and shower facilities are available. Be sure to bring a sleeping bag (or blankets) and a pillow.
Course Format and Arrival Time: Much of the class will be conducted outdoors. Be prepared for any type of weather. Clothing should be comfortable, rugged, and suitable for variable weather (i.e. rain gear, pile jackets, wool pants, shorts, etc.) If you have your own sleeping bag, ensolite pad and foul weather gear, please bring them. You will need standard school supplies notebooks, paper, pen, pencil, etc. For a more detailed list, please contact Walter.
