2007 Goth Scholarship Winner:
The University of Alabama Adaptive Outdoor Recreation Program
This program performs four basic services for the students of the University of Alabama and the community of Tuscaloosa. The services offered are:
- Several outdoor trips each semester
- Rental center for outdoor gear
- A climbing wall
- Climbing classes offered through the kinesiology Department
- Full service bike shop
In 2007 the program is offering eight different trips during the spring semester ranging from a two day backpacking trip to a week long scuba trip in Dry Tortugas National Park. Additionally there will be two adaptive trips for students with disabilities: an adaptive snow skiing trip and a rafting trip down the Ocoee River.
This scholarship is awarded annually by Wilderness Medical Associates.
