2008 Goth Scholarship Winner:
Lake Valley Camps
Lake Valley Camp is a ten-year youth development organization that offers exceptional summer camp experiences and year-round programs and support to participants and their families. Through this multi-stage program participants gain greater independence, increased self-confidence, and leadership skills that will help them achieve their own unique potential.
Most participants live in Milwaukee and all of our participants live in underserved communities. All Lake Valley Camp programs are provided free of charge.
Our programs include...
Day Camp
- A wonderful opportunity for first-time participants to explore the world around them
- Field trips throughout Milwaukee and other hands-on activities during summer sessions
- Participants become familiar with the program before moving on to Resident Camp
Resident Camp
Participants gain self-confidence, increase independance, explore new activies and form lasting friendships over 12 nights at camp. They will ride horses, take swim lessons, participate in a variety of art and sport programs, canoe on the camp's lake, and so much more.
Leadership Training Program
- Provides job, college prep and leadership opportunities for teens throughout the year
- Participants have the opportunity to go on a 9 day hiking and canoeing wilderness exploration
- Participants are able to do paid work at the resident camp during the summer and have the possibility to continue as Counselors in Training
