The Remote Health Initiative (RHI)
The Remote Health Initiative (RHI) is a not-for-profit entity that promotes education and research opportunities in remote and low-resource medicine.
Currently, the primary focus of the RHI is the development and delivery of the Wilderness Medicine Elective, a program designed to prepare medical students and residents to work in unconventional prehospital settings. The RHI is committed to interprofessional education, the implementation of best-practices in medical education, and the development of evidence-based medical education in wilderness medicine within the healthcare community. It is also an advocate to enhance opportunities in prehospital and low-resource medicine in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
