Description:
Paul spent six years in the Air Force as a firefighter EMT. He served in Cheyenne WY, Desert Storm and did a two year remote tour on the Azore Islands. During his Air Force time he responded to hundreds of emergencies ranging from structure fires to mass casualty aircraft crashes.
Upon leaving the Air Force Paul moved to Fairbanks Alaska to plan his next move. It did not take long. After ten months in Alaska he left for Traverse City Michigan and the Great Lakes Maritime Academy. In May of 2004 Paul graduated the academy and began his sailing career as an officer in the Merchant Marines. Since that time he has been sailing the North Atlantic trade route to Northern Europe serving as Medical Officer and more recently as the Navigational Officer of a 50,000 gross ton ship.
Paul currently resides in Charlevoix Michigan. When he is not out to sea he rides as an EMT on a local ambulance and spends much of his time with his wife Vanessa and their three children.
