Description:
Roger Coit is a faculty member of Colorado Mountain College in Leadville where instructs EMS and Outdoor Studies courses. Prior to becoming a full-time faculty there he taught as an adjunct instructor since 1998, leading courses in Avalanche Safety, Wilderness Medicine, and Urban EMS. He also works as a Paramedic for Summit County Ambulance Service in Frisco, Colorado, having completed his Paramedic training in 1997 and Critical Care Paramedic training in 2003. Roger has significant wilderness rescue experience and has been a lead instructor for Wilderness Medical Associates since 1996. He was a professional ski patroller for 11 years and continues to volunteer as an ALS provider for Monarch Ski Patrol near his home in Salida. He also has many years as a river guide and river manager on the Arkansas River as well as guiding on many other rivers in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and West Virginia. He and his wife Kate love to travel and play in the outdoors with their two sons, Ethan (14) and Evan (10).
