Jim Morrissey has been involved in emergency medicine, rescue, climbing/guiding, and law enforcement tactical operations for over 20 years. He is currently the Tactical Paramedic and Medical Program Director for the San Francisco FBI SWAT team and the Disaster and WMD Coordinator for Alameda County Emergency Medical Services. He is the Medical Health Operational Area Coordinator (MHOAC) for Alameda County. Jim has a Masters Degree in Homeland Security and Defense from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. Jim started his career as an Outward Bound Instructor in Maine leading wilderness and mountaineering expeditions. He is the author of the Wilderness Medical Associates Field Guide (link) and several articles on wilderness medicine, and rope rescue.
