WEMT, BA-EdDescription:
Julian discovered wilderness medicine through her work as an outdoor professional in 1995. Since then she has earned her WFR, worked as an urban EMT, and has guided and instructed for dozens of companies across North America. Directed by ten years of professional experience in non-profit management and a Bachelors degree in Experiential Education, Julian has a lengthy history creating programs that utilize recreational activities as vehicles to deliver opportunities for broader life experience, achievement, and reflection to young people as well as the young at heart. She is a former Junior National Team and Cal Berkeley rower who enjoys being outside for days at a time and immersing herself in new cultures. Julian instructs sea kayaking and backpacking courses for Outward Bound and is a volunteer for Jefferson County Search and Rescue when she isn't at her day job as the Program Director for the Pocock Foundation and Rainier Valley Rowing in Seattle, WA. She is excited to be joining the WMA team and returning to school next fall to earn her masters degree as a Physician Assistant.
