Description:

Rick is an internationally known expert on rope rescue. He has been involved with emergency pre-hospital care for over thirty 30 years. He teaches wilderness and urban emergency care courses on a regular basis, as well as high angle  rescue courses for industry. He is a technical advisor and active field operations leader for Washington Mountain Rescue, performing dozens of technical rescues a year. He also works as an alpine ski patroller at Mt. Baker Ski Area. As the founder and president of Conterra Technical Systems, he has been designing and building award winning emergency products for three decades. His packs have been used on every continent and every condition on earth (including Mt. Everest and Antarctica). Rick has been involved with WMA since 1993, and a lead instructor since 1997. An active climber, mountain biker and martial artist, he makes his home in Bellingham, WA.
