The Wilderness First Responder program is the ideal medical training for leaders in remote areas including outdoor educators, guides, military, professional search and rescue teams, researchers, and those involved in disaster relief. The curriculum is comprehensive and practical. It includes the essential principles and skills required to assess and manage medical problems in isolated and extreme environments for days and weeks if necessary.
Room and Board:
Lodging includes rustic bunk-style cabins. Most cabins include multiple bunks, none have indoor toilets, most do not have electricity, and some are heated by wood stoves. A centrally-located washhouse is available with showers and toilets and toilets are available in the main course building. A base map will be issued upon check-in.
The basecamp kitchen provides all meals and the coffee is always on. Breakfast is continental-style, lunch and dinners are prepared meals and served buffet-style. Most of our food is homemade and hearty and we can accommodate many dietary concerns.
Very Rustic Cabins (no running water, wooden cots, 8 x 10 cabin, has electricity & wood or propane heat). Bring warm sleeping bag & sheets.
