This course will be held at the Lost River Field Station near Mackay, ID. Beautiful high desert environment and Rocky Mountain views. This is a perfect facility for a quality WFR experience, with kitchen, camping, showers and laundry on site and included in the price. Three and a half hours from Boise, four hours from Salt Lake.

Ideal environment for learning wilderness medical skills – forests, rock wall, streams, quarry, seashore, sailboat – all on site.   Course will be led by Jon Tierney, IFMGA/AMGA Mountain Guide, Flight and Wilderness Paramedic, FAWM and RN along with other members of the Acadia Mountain Guides team of highly skilled and experienced wilderness medicine instructors. Enrollment in the course must be complete no later than 2 weeks prior to the course; 20-30 hours of pre-course work is required before the start of the course. Students must be at least 18 years old to participate in the course. No previous medical training is required.

Taught by Wilderness Medical Associates , this 5-day course is the industry standard for outdoor professionals. Many organizations require it as part of their job qualifications. Recommended for outdoor professionals and recreationalists who lead adventure trips, and those who are in the backcountry for days or weeks with the possibility of having to care for a patient over an extended time.
