RN, WEMT, Registered Maine Guide

Eric Duffy is a Registered Nurse, Wilderness and State of Maine EMT, and a Registered Maine Guide in Recreation and Sea Kayaking. Before becoming a nurse, Eric spent nearly a decade working seasonally as a sea kayaking guide in the summer and an EMT over the winter. His background also includes a BA in English and MA in Theology and World Religions; supervising the paddling programs at the L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools; coordinating the health clinic at the Chewonki Foundation; teaching at Hebron Academy; and directing Health Services at Lincoln Academy. To refresh his clinical training and have more time to teach for WMAI, Eric recently stepped into a part time position at Lincoln Academy and began work in an Urgent Care Center. Eric lives in a small lobstering village where he spends a lot of time outside with his wife and daughters, ocean paddles in canoes and kayaks, free-heel skis, whitewater canoes, and sails vintage dinghies that he restored during the COVID lockdown.
