Certifications

WFR, Advanced Care Paramedic (Alberta), PhD (adult education)

I have enjoyed being in the outdoors as far back as I can remember. I enjoy backpacking, canoeing, trail running, hunting and fishing. In the last few years, I have become actively involved in the bushcraft and survival community in Alberta. I find it fun to camp out in the winter without a tent or sleeping bag. I am an advanced care paramedic in Alberta and until recently have been teaching this at the College level. The advantage of working EMS was that I was able to take university courses in my down time resulting in a PhD in Adult education from the University of Alberta in 2010. I am currently taking a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Calgary. My most recent endeavour was to take the WMA International Instructor course in March of 2024.
