5 fast paced full days with pre-course work required focused on your level of medical licensure. WMA Curriculum Director Julie Anderson who is a flight nurse/Paramedic from Alaska will be coming down to NM as one of the instructors in this terrific course offering.

Registration Information
This is a fast paced course designed for EMS and higher licensed Medical Professionals. This is a true “Upgrade” to your existing skills, it will add many more skills to increase your knowledge and experience for practice in a Wilderness/Austere environment where access to other resources is delayed or unavailable. WEMS Upgrade courses are approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider # CEP17692, for 45 contact hours; as is EMS CE through CAPCE & State of NM EMS Licensing. Participants include Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, EMT’s/Paramedics, SAR medical leaders, expedition medics, DMAT members, military medics, and those preparing for the WP-C test. Interdisciplinary providers are intentionally mixed during performance tasks to promote future collaboration in the field. The course will be in beautiful Taos New Mexico at 7,000′. Slots in this course are limited.
