You will be empowered with the knowledge you need to avoid high-risk solutions for low-risk problems. At Gut-Z Journey, we teach you the ‘why’ behind decision-making in the field. The skills you’ll gain from our courses will therefore be incredibly practical and long-lasting.

Take your wilderness skills to the next level in the outdoor mecca of the Eastern Sierra. With snow-capped mountains, skiing, climbing, and camping galore, it’s a great place to soak in new skills.

Most of our students capitalize on the numerous dispersed camping options the Eastern Sierra offers!

This course is being held at the Crowley Lake Community Center (15 miles south of the incorporated town of Mammoth Lakes, CA).

Our WFR classes are kept small to help promote a challenging and impactful leaning environment. We believe that experiential engagement with stressful and complicated situations can hone our strengths and expose our areas of needed development. Our facilitation focuses on how best to deploy sound critical thinking, and risk management in any environment.

Our courses are held at Green Oak Ranch. Come experience the beautiful, undeveloped hills around the ranch and feel the spirit of this historic property. The 142-acre ranch was part of the original 2,288 acre “Rancho Buena Vista,” Mexican Land Grant from the early 1800s. Explore nearby beaches, mountain biking and hiking trails, or just kickback at one of the many local restaurants and breweries.

This course takes place at an outdoor education centre in Schomberg, Ontario — 45 minutes from downtown Toronto and 30 minutes from Pearson Airport (YYZ).

Local students can commute. If you’re coming from out of town, the closest hotels are in Bolton, 10 minutes away. Other lodging options nearby include house and room rentals and B&B’s.

The great location for hands-on training has a spacious classroom and 260+ acres of woods and trails.

The course site, Ciel et Bois, is 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa in Cantley, QC.

Accommodation options: A) Onsite shared lodging for $29/night includes fully equipped kitchen, bedding, wifi, comfortable and fun common areas, fire pits, and surrounded by beautiful nature, B) Book a private hotel or Airbnb, C) Commute from home or elsewhere in Ottawa/Gatineau.

Optional pick-up and drop-off at Ottawa airport, train, or hotel: $19 CAD each way.
