Paul Smiths, New York
Scott is a Forest Ranger for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, living and working in the Adirondack Park. He has been a search and rescue professional for over a decade, working throughout the lower 48 states in the wildest places he can find. He is currently a swiftwater rescue instructor, wildland fire squad boss, and a lead instructor for the Forest Rangers “tracking for search and rescue” program. When not working in the wilderness, Scott can be found playing in it. Canoeing, rafting, camping, backpacking, skiing, and chasing trout.
