Course taught at our beautiful private facility bordering National Forest

Wilderness First Responder (WFR) is ideal for anyone aged 18 and up wanting a high level of wilderness medical training for extended personal backcountry trips or expeditions, and anyone working in a position of leadership in an outdoor setting. The WFR course is recognized as the industry standard for outdoor professionals including river and mountain guides, search and rescue personnel, outdoor trip leaders, and others who expect to end up in remote settings with limited resources.

Taught by Wilderness Medical Associates , this 5-day course is the industry standard for outdoor professionals. Many organizations require it as part of their job qualifications. Recommended for outdoor professionals and recreationalists who lead adventure trips, and those who are in the backcountry for days or weeks with the possibility of having to care for a patient over an extended time.

Gateway to Glacier National Park, Montana

Optional dorm style housing available for the course $340. Housing includes access to a kitchen. Add a linen package so you don’t have to pack a sleeping bag and towels for $40.

Tuition includes food and lodging. Facility is water-access only. Rustic bunk style lodging and composting toilets.

Join us at YMCA Camp Menogyn on beautiful West Bearskin Lake at the edge of the Boundary Waters Wilderness Area for this 8-day WFR course. Students have access to canoe and hiking routes, delicious meals and a traditional sauna. Tuition includes food and lodging.

Course is offered in beautiful Boulder, CO. World-class climbing, hiking, skiing and so much more are available just outside the classroom.
